The Nissan plant in Tennessee is located in Smyrna, just outside of Nashville. The plant, which opened in 1983, currently employs around 6,000 workers and produces around 650,000 vehicles per year. In addition to the Smyrna plant, Nissan also has a plant in Canton, Mississippi, which opened in 2003.
